Happy 38th Anniversary to Ed (and me) !!
It'll be THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS on Friday, you guys! That's nearly four decades. Here's pic of me from August 13, 1983. I'm in my wedding gown--a simple off-the-shoulder (kinda peasant blouse style) dress, to go with my 1979-rock-star perm. Bouquet? Daisies, of course. (That's my dad, slim, trim, and younger than I am right now, ready to walk me down the ol' aisle!)And here (below) is a shot of Ed and me doing the whole vows and rings thing. We were in a church in Framingham, Massachusetts, which is, ironically, where we now live. In the town, not in the church, although that's not too far from our house! Cool trivia: Framingham's zip code is the Starship Enterprise's NCC: (0)1701.
Things you didn't know you needed to know! (And no, it's not why we moved there. Finding out that the zip code was SUPER easy for me to remember was just a bonus!)To celebrate 38 years of my own personal romance-novel-worthy HEA, I'm having an e-sale for the second (stand-alone!) book in my Sunrise Key series, The Kissing Game! Here in Florida, school has already started! (As Delta surges, holy crap, it's grim here, people!!) But for many of us, summer's not over yet! There's still time to grab a romance novel and book it over to your nearest beach (and/or your nearest beach substitute: your backyard, your screened in porch, your well-air conditioned living room sofa...) to get in some quality reading time!THE KISSING GAME (# 2 in my beach-town-in-the-1990s set Sunrise Key Trilogy) on e-sale for $2.99!
And yeah, like all of the installments in the Sunrise Key Trilogy, you don't have to read the other books, although it's more fun if you do! (Imagine if Stars Hollow sprang to life on a little barrier island on the Gulf coast of Southwest Florida!)
Here're the deets for this book:
Simon Hunt, antique dealerFrancine "Frankie" Paresky, cab driver/private investigatorLocation: Sunrise Key, FL & Boston, MAFirst Published 1996Tropes:Childhood friends to loversBest friend's hot older brother/Little sister's best friendQuirky small-town romance
Friends to lovers...
When Frankie Paresky was twelve, she had a mad crush on her best friend Leila’s older brother, Simon. And while grown-up Francine still appreciates that Simon’s handsome-hot-and-sexy factor is off the scale, she’s well aware that he’s Sunrise Key’s most notorious ladies’ man. She’s glad to be his friend—his sharp sense of humor and love of laughter makes him fun to be around—but she’s careful to follow the “ten foot pole” rule. If she lets him get too close, her resistance starts to melt—but Simon only does short-term flings and Frankie’s looking for forever.
On a madcap adventure… Simon Hunt can’t stop making trench-coat-and-fedora jokes when Frankie gets a license to become a private eye. Sunrise Key isn’t exactly overrun with crime or mysteries that need solving, so she’s as surprised as he is when a client walks into her office and drops a hefty retainer on her desk. Her first big assignment seems daunting: find a man named “John” who vacationed on the island over a decade ago. But Frankie’s lived in the tiny tourist town her entire life and she soon realizes that the key to finding John lies in her tracking down his stepson—who just happens to be the boy with whom she shared her first kiss.
As Simon plays Dr. Watson to Frankie’s Sherlock Holmes, he quickly realizes that she’s good at solving mysteries. And when—not if, when—she finds and reconnects with her long-ago love, Simon might lose her forever. And suddenly, for this life-long fan of the one-night-stand, the idea of forever with Frankie is a whole lot less terrifying than the thought of forever without her… Welcome back to Sunrise Key! Set in 1996 in fictional Sunrise Key, Florida, The Kissing Game is the second book in the Sunrise Key trilogy, which includes Kiss and Tell (#1, Dr. Marsh Devlin and Leila Hunt) and Otherwise Engaged (#3 Town billionaire (yup, we've got ourselves a billionaire in town--cough) Preston Seaholm and Sunrise Key newcomer Molly Cassidy).
