Greetings from the dumpster fire beneath this heat dome over my (and a whole lot of your) garden(s). Yup, I got the shade up (sheets draped dramatically and lots of patio and beach umbrellas) over my green beans and zucchini and other veggies early this morning, allegedly before it got too hot, but wow and yikes and damn, skippy!
You can’t see ‘em, but there are two other umbrellas shading these raised beds of green beans.

One more thing: We (me and 200+ of you!) successfully crowdfunded and produced an audiobook edition (100% human created, no AI no no no no never no nope!!) of my latest Troubleshooters novel, Jules Cassidy, P.I.
Read by long-time Troubleshooters narrator Patrick Lawlor, the finished audiobook came in at a whoppingly long 16-and-a-half hours. Whew. (I just listened to the whole thing, making sure all the chapters were in the right place, etc., and Patrick did a really great job at conveying the upbeat, hopeful tone of this book that has themes of starting over, and finding love and support in one’s community, even when things are really bad.)
