Happy Jules & Robin's 11th Anniversary!
To celebrate, I've just e-released (with a print edition to come) the two-act play, Looking for Billy Haines, that I wrote back in 2008(ish)!Looking for Billy Haines ran Off-Broadway in New York City at Theatre Row's Lion Theatre in the spring of 2010. It's a romantic comedy, with dance! (Yes! Really! Ah, you should've seen it...)But now, for the first time, I've made the script available via ebook at a special holiday price of $3.99:
Looking for Billy Haines
a romantic comedy in two acts, with dance
by Suzanne Brockmann and Ed Gaffney (writing as Will McCabe)
First performed Off-Broadway: March 25, 2010
First published: November, 2018
Jamie Hollis, a struggling New York actor, scores an audition for a feature film about Billy Haines, a real life movie star of the 1920s and 30s who gave up his career to stay in an out relationship with his partner. Billy’s story, along with Jamie’s rather vibrant imagination and his three colorful roommates, helps him realize that he needs to make some decisions about his own unsatisfying relationship with a closeted man... More holiday tidings: The Perfect Wedding
The Perfect Wedding is the LGBTQ-inclusive family-friendly, holiday-themed rom-com movie that you've been looking for as we approach the holiday season!Stream it for free on Hulu or rent it for just $3.99 from Amazon, Vimeo, or Wolfe!Fake-Boyfriend trope with a spin!In my sweet little boy-meets-boy movie, Gavin (Jason T. Gaffney, who co-wrote the script) agrees to pose as Roy's fake-boyfriend, as they help Roy's college friend Alana plan her "perfect" wedding over a holiday weekend with Alana's parents (Kristine Sutherland and James Rebhorn) and her older brother, Paul (Eric Aragon).
Years ago, bad-boy Paul broke Roy's heart. Recently, Paul's made a lot of changes in his life--he's now sober and in recovery with the help of his friend and AA sponsor, Zack (Sal Rendino). When Paul meets Gavin and their connection is instant and palpable (sparks fly!), Paul knows that the dead last thing he can or should do is to shoplift Roy's new boyfriend. He's still working on his AA steps and cleaning up the damage he caused in the past--no way can he hurt Roy again. But... Gavin is so damn adorable...
Add a romantic subplot with Alana and her gorgeous fiancé, Kirk......a sweet love story between Paul and Alana's parents, Meryl and Richard--played by the amazing Kristine Sutherland (aka Buffy's mom Joyce Summers) and the late, great Jim Rebhorn......plus an impromptu, gorgeously romantic Christmas Eve wedding...
