My latest movie is out and I've put both of my romance novels about movie-making on e-sale to celebrate!Russian Doll is available on DVD and via streaming!!Most of you know me as a romance novelist, but I have a teeny tiny indie movie production company called small or LARGE Productions, and our latest feature film, Russian Doll, is finally available from Wolfe Releasing!Russian Doll is a thriller (with romantic elements, of course!) The cast includes the amazing Kristine Sutherland (AKA Joyce Summers, AKA Buffy's mom), as well as Marem Hassler, our own Jason T. Gaffney, and his sister Melanie Brockmann Gaffney.(Cool trivia: Melanie did quite a bit of work as an actor in Boston when she was just a girl. One of her earliest projects was an educational video in which she played a STEM-loving pre-teen girl, and Chris Evans played her older brother. Melanie reports that Captain America was an incredibly kind teenage boy!)Russian Doll:
Russian Doll is a female-driven, sexy, edgy crime thriller. The story begins when a young woman discovers a murder plot and calls 9-1-1. But moments into the phone call, she is attacked and abducted.
The investigation into her disappearance leads Police Detective Viola Ames to interrogate the cast and crew of a local theater company. What Viola doesn’t know is that one of the people she questions is days from committing a long-planned murder.
Meanwhile, Viola meets a beautiful woman named Faith who unexpectedly provides a vital clue to the case, and who also forces Viola to confront the grief she has suppressed from her wife’s death of almost two years ago.
It’s a story filled with passion, violence, and suspense, where everyone is hiding something

As someone who's spent quite a bit of time on movie sets, both as the mom of two kids who were actors, and later as an indie movie writer/producer myself, I know quite a bit about making movies. It's fun to set a romance novel in that crazy, creative environment, and I've put both of my movie-set books, HeartThrob (originally published 1999) and Infamous (originally published 2010) on e-sale to celebrate!HeartThrob features a writer/producer heroine and a former A-list actor hero, who's hoping for a comeback after finally getting clean. In Infamous, the heroine is the movie's historical consultant, and the hero is the real-life great-grandson of the Old West outlaw who's the alleged villain in the dime-novel legend upon which the movie is based. (And that alleged outlaw's ghost is the hero's sidekick/best friend, so yeah, this book was always hard to categorize. It's a rom-com, but it's also a rom-suspense, yet it has a ghost whose love story happened in the 1890s in the American West... So... Contemporary-historical-dramady with paranormal elements...?!)Both of these books are personal favorites of mine!

One little last piece of news:I'm getting ready to release the long-awaited twelfth (12th) book in my Tall, Dark & Dangerous series about Navy SEAL Team Ten.Yes, you read that right. :-) Right now the working title is Operation Ashley, but don't hold me to it.The hero of this (New! Never before published!) book is LT Jim "Spaceman" Slade, and the heroine is Ashley DeWitt, the former roommate of Colleen Skelly Taylor (Chief Bobby Taylor's wife and Chief Wes Skelly's sister).Ashley goes to a camp in Florida called "SEAL World," in an attempt to learn some desperately needed assertiveness skills. When Jim Slade is forced to take medical leave for a pair of bad knees, he spends his "vacation" filling in as a SEAL World instructor, and when the two meet, sparks fly...Other SEALs show up in the story, including Lucky, Bobby and Wes (of course!), Joe Cat, Harvard, Jake, Rio Rosetti, and Thomas King. (Former TDD heroines appear, too, including Colleen, Syd, and Wes's wife Britt.)Release date is... mid-ish May...? Yeah, it should be ready in a few weeks.I'm publishing it via my own "Suzanne Brockmann Books," in e-book and print on demand (and audio, too, but that'll take a while longer) and "our" philosophy here in my one-person publishing house is pretty chill. Is the e-book ready...? Good, toss it out there, with print and audio to follow eventually. Marketing? Nope. Readers'll stumble across it at some point! :-)I will send out an email newsletter when this (New!) book is available, so watch for that. Okay, that's all the news for now!
As always, thank you so much for your time and attention! Please feel free to email, blog, post, tweet, and/or share any or all of my news with your social circle! In fact, I appreciate it greatly when you do! Thank you so much for your ongoing support!Hang in there, register or make sure you're registered to #VoteBlue (double-check furiously before November!), and happy movie-watching and reading! Love,Suz
