Happy Birthday to me!
My latest full-length romance novel, SEAL Camp, (Tall, Dark & Dangerous Navy SEAL Team Ten # 12) is now available in e-book from Suzanne Brockmann Books!(Boom!)Even though it's set in the 11-books-before-it TDD world, like all TDD novels, SEAL Camp stands alone. More information: http://suzannebrockmann.com/books/tall-dark-dangerous/seal-camp/I hear your strangled and/or excited screams of WTF (particularly laced with panic from you, print-book lovers) so let's get you some info, pronto:Q: Will there be a print edition of SEAL Camp? A: Yes! SEAL Camp will be available in a trade-size paperback via print-on-demand from CreateSpace, as well as a hardcover from Nook Press. Give me another few weeks to get the print editions up and running. Q: Is this some ancient reissue, or a short story, or...?A: No! It's a brand new, never-before-published TDD-length romance novel, featuring the characters of my SEAL Team Ten world. I started writing it in the summer of 2016 and got kinda stopped by the world after the election. I've been working on it over the past few years, veerrry slooowly, but then finished it in a burst of inspiration, after writing a screenplay with my son Jason last March. Q: Wait, you just finished writing SEAL Camp in March, like two months ago March of 2018...?!A: Yup. And actually, I just completed the book's final revisions about 72 hours ago. That's the magic of being an indie author who publishes her own work. As soon as the book's edited and revised, I'm happy to drop it out there--boom!--so you can get it and read it ASAP. "Our" entire marketing strategy here at "Suzanne Brockmann Books" is based on the concept that readers will eventually stumble across a new book. Also...? Just as I make sure that my SBB-reissued older books are clearly marked with their original publication date, I'll include "First published May 2018" in the book's description, wherever SEAL Camp is sold. So if you miss a newsletter or two, and you stumble across a book you don't recognize, you'll know at a glance if it's new!Q: Why return to the TDD series after all this time...?A: For a long time, I couldn't return to the series, for an extensive list of reasons. But enough time has passed, combined with my wanting to write this particular story, and... Here we are! But because it's been so long since the last TDD book (Night Watch, TDD #11, Wes & Brittany, was released in 2003), instead of writing a book set back in 2004 (dial-up internet! pagers! flip-phones! No!!) or writing a book set in 2018 in which nearly every familiar SEAL in Team Ten has retired or now works in the Pentagon (no!!), I've chosen to set SEAL Camp both in the present day and about a year and a half after Night Watch. Embrace the time warp!Q: Does this mean we're finally going to get Thomas & Tasha's book?A: Well, LT (jg) Thomas King is a major secondary character in SEAL Camp, so... Yes. Yup. :-)Q: Who's the hero of SEAL Camp?A: LT Jim "Spaceman" Slade, who appears in Taylor's Temptation (TDD #10, Bobby & Colleen). Interestingly, the heroine, Ashley DeWitt, a young lawyer, also appears in that very same book. In fact, Ashley is Colleen's law school roommate, and Colleen wants to set up Ashley with Jim. But they never manage to meet, not until SEAL Camp.Q: Who else from the TDD world appears in SEAL Camp?A: I've already mentioned Thomas King. Luke "Lucky" O'Donlon plays a role, as does Petty Officer Rio Rosetti. You'll see Joe Cat (in his role as Team Ten's CO), as well as Ashley's best friend Colleen and her husband Chief Bobby Taylor. Chief Wes Skelly's never far from Bobby (he's also Colleen's brother!), so you'll see him and his wife Brittany, too. Here's that blurb I promised you:SEAL CampFirst published May 2018 Navy SEAL Lieutenant Jim “Spaceman” Slade’s got a problem. A SEAL Team is only as fast as its slowest member—and right now, thanks to his battered knees—that’s Jim. He reluctantly takes medical leave, but he’s a SEAL, so he spends his “vacation” as an instructor, helping out a former senior chief who runs a camp for SEAL wannabes. But to Jim’s shock, he finds himself falling for the one woman attending the camp session—an obviously brilliant but seemingly timid lawyer who is determined to do everything her way, no matter how wrong. Ashley DeWitt’s got a problem, too. She’s a kickass lawyer, but when it comes to her personal life, she’s a total pushover. When she finds herself hiding behind her condo Dumpster to avoid a confrontation with an ex, she decides enough is enough and signs up for a session at a camp called SEAL World, in hopes she’ll discover how to be more assertive outside of the courtroom. And then she’s assigned to Jim’s team... When an alpha male—smart, funny, strong, but terrified of a future trapped behind a desk—collides with a smart, funny, and quietly strong woman with a troubled past, sparks fly hot and fast. The tall, dark, and dangerous Navy SEALs of Team Ten are back, with Suzanne Brockmann’s signature blend of love, laughter, and a hint of danger in SEAL Camp.(60,000 words or 200 pages)Okay, that's all the news for now!
