Last Call for Jules Cassidy, P.I. audiobook downloads!

 1) A few months ago, a bunch of you helped successfully crowdfund the rather hefty production costs of recording an AI-free, fully human, SAG/AFTRA-union-actor-narrated audiobook edition of my latest Troubleshooters series book (#20, Jules Cassidy, P.I.).

2) Longtime voice of the Troubleshooters series, human-union-actor, and all-around swell guy Patrick Lawlor is prepping to read this book into his microphone in his home studio right now! (Right now! As I write this, and as you read this!!)

3) Fingers crossed and knock on wood, but it looks like my mid-summer estimate for having the audiobook downloads ready to send to my Kickstarter backers is right on the nose. In fact, I’m guessing the download’ll be in the JULES-in-Audio Kickstarter backers’ BookFunnel libraries in late June, and maybe even earlier, if we can swing it. (If that is you, YAY! If that is not you, and you’re interested in getting an audiobook download, keep reading!)

4) I don’t have any plans yet for wider release, but it will be months at the least before that happens. (Part of what the Kickstarter backers are getting from their support is an exclusive, early audiobook download. FYI: It’s gonna be a long time (if ever) before JULES shows up on Audible.* So if you’re waiting for that, you might want to reconsider!!)

5) If you didn’t back the campaign but wish you had, good news! Kickstarter does a thing called “late pledges” where, for $28 (a few bucks more than the OG Kickstarter pledge of $25) you can still sign up to get the audiobook download of JULES, with an estimated 16-hour run time, when it’s ready to go. (Again: it’s looking like post-production will be done by the end of June!)

Here's the link to the still-active Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/suzannebrockmann/audiobook-jules-cassidy-pi

Note: if you’re new to Kickstarter, when you click on the green “Back this project” button, near the top of the campaign page, you’ll get to a webpage that says “Select your reward.” You’ll need to scroll down to a list of “Available rewards” to the “Audiobook download” box and hit the black “Pledge $28” button.

Another note: Kickstarter has disclaimers saying “Rewards aren’t guaranteed.”

I’m here to tell you that this project is fully funded, and that I am guaranteeing that if you pledge for an audiobook download of JULES, I’m gonna send you an audiobook download of JULES.

I’ll be using BookFunnel, the incredibly reader-friendly (and free to you-the-readers) ebook and audiobook delivery site to send out the JULES audiobook downloads. As soon as it’s ready to go, I’ll hit a button over at BookFunnel, and the audiobook will appear in your BookFunnel library where you can listen to it through a free (and easy to use) BookFunnel app, or download it. (It’s yours to own, and unlike some digital media from various streaming services, it will never be taken away from you!)

So here’s that link again, with a heads-up that the Kickstarter lates pledges option will be ending completely in a few weeks time:

Okay! That’s the news about JULES.

(I am writing another book—slowly—that again features Jules Cassidy, but I’m not yet at the point where I’m ready to talk about it. I can say that he’s such a fun character to spend time with as a writer—but I think you’ve probably already guessed that!!)

I hope, as spring continues, you’re not just surviving, but standing up and speaking out as the corruption and cruelty and unabashed racism of our authoritarian regime is laid bare for the entire world to see. (How do they not burn with shame?!!) (I know, I know, they are shameless.)

*This is a weird world we’re living in right now, and as a socially conscious person, I’m working to walk the tightrope between boycotting corporations with their fascist billionaire owners, and earning a living while being able to look at myself in the mirror each day for the rest of my life. I have a particular problem with Audible underpricing/undervaluing longer audiobooks, like JULES with its estimated sixteen-hour run-time. (Which comes with a very hefty sixteen-hour production cost.)
