Hey, Readers!

I decided that the fastest way to get you this massively hefty (so many pages!) next installment in my Troubleshooters series was via Kickstarter.

In short:

Jules (and Sam, and Robin of course, too) in your hands in a little over a month from today on December 11, 2025.

Yay?

If “Yes Yay,” go directly to Kickstarter to find out more at: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/suzannebrockmann/jules-cassidy-pi

Find out more about the book at my website, here: https://suzannebrockmann.com/books/troubleshooters/julescassidypi/

In long:

If you’d like to get an ebook of Jules Cassidy, P.I. a full month before its official release in late January, at a lower price to boot, the only way to do this is via this Kickstarter campaign. (Also, act fast(ish), because the Kickstarter ends on December 8, 2025.)

I’ll be using BookFunnel to send you your Kickstarter-procured ebook of Jules Cassidy, P.I.

BookFunnel is a really terrific, user-friendly, free-to-you-the-reader service that allows you to download ebooks onto a wide variety of ereaders. (Kindle! Nook! Apple! Kobo! And then some!) It also lets you read your copy of Jules Cassidy, P.I. at the BookFunnel website or via the BookFunnel app (easy and free to download!). BookFunnel will provide copious support for those of you who don’t regularly read ebooks but don’t want to wait until the spring for Jules to come and give you a hug.

Via this Kickstarter, I’m also offering a limited number of signed books, too—both hardcover and trade paperback—for readers with a U.S. shipping address. (I’m so sorry non-U.S. reader-friends! One day this crazy charlie-foxtrot will end!! But right now the red-tape of international shipping is impossible to navigate.) Those books are going to be created via print-on-demand (which takes forever!), so they won’t get signed and shipped to you until after the holidays. (Think late February.) BUT! Everyone who orders a print edition will also get the ebook—which will arrive on December 11, 2025. (This allows Jules to swoop in to save the day, as he’s often done in past TS books, making it possible for us all to end this trash-bin of a year on a note of renewed hope and inspiration!)

There are a few other Kickstarter rewards available, too: a coupla group Zoom Q&As and a variety of add-ons. In fact, you can get any ebook from my entire self-pubbed backlist of reissued ebooks as an add-on. Everything from Future Perfect to 2023’s Blame It on Rio is available for the super low price of $3 an ebook. Here’s the blurb for Jules Cassidy, P.I.:

Troubleshooters series fan-favorite Jules Cassidy is back!

Starting over is never easy, but when Jules is forced out of the FBI, he has the help of his good friend, former Navy SEAL Sam Starrett, as he takes on his first case as head of the Troubleshooters personal security firm’s brand new Los Angeles office.

Jules’s assignment: Locate a woman named Emily Johnson, the unexpected heir to a Hollywood producer’s massive fortune. The weird twist? The producer’s estranged son is the client who’s hired Jules and Sam to find this mysterious stranger who’ll inherit what should have been his—millions he claims he does not need or want.

Still, the investigation should be simple despite the lack of information about this woman with a very common name. But Jules knows that with Sam’s help, he’ll find her, even if they have to knock on the door of every Emily Johnson in the greater Los Angeles area.

Best of all? This easy case is danger-free.

But as the WTFs surrounding the investigation start piling up rapidly and haphazardly, it soon becomes clear to both Jules and Sam that someone’s gunning for their mysterious and hard-to-find Emily—and for them, as well.

In a novel that’s part mystery, part drama, part comedy and all heart, Brockmann’s long-awaited return to the Troubleshooters world also delivers the story of Jules Cassidy’s first-ever investigation as a seventeen-year-old high school student.

Shortly after his father’s untimely death, Jules and his mother move back to her rural Connecticut hometown, where Jules begins his senior year as the “new kid.” It’s not long before he is immersed in solving a crime—someone is attacking girls at weekend parties. With the help of a new group of friends, Jules is determined to catch and bring the violent perpetrator to justice.

But life doesn’t always go according to plan…

Okay, so in summary:

If you want Jules Cassidy, P.I. on your ereader ASAP, pop on over to Kickstarter and choose between ebook, paperback, and hardcover. (There are limited print editions, U.S. readers, so act fast!)

  • This Kickstarter ends on 12/08/25
