So it’s November.
I’m not writing. Well, I’m not writing fiction. And I know that’s annoying to some of you.
But frankly, I believe the current and ongoing threat to our democracy is so destructive that writing romance novels right now is not the best use of my time.
Instead, I’ve been hyper-politically active working to spread the good news, the joy, and the hopeful promise of unity that Vice President Kamala Harris has brought to this presidential campaign.
I’ve been working hard to get out the vote in swing states (with a focus on North Carolina!) and to register Democratic voters there (courtesy of Field Team 6!). And I’ve been working to GOTV, too, in key house districts all across this nation.
And I’ve reached out to you, my readers, probably more than you want, to urge you to open your eyes to the indisputable fact that if Donald Trump retakes the White House, our country will be irrevocably damaged.
I’ve asked you to find out more about Trump’s Project 2025. Back in August, I shared links and videos to help you educate friends and family about the incredible loss of freedom to so many of us that this plan would set in motion. (Adding to the reproductive freedoms we women and able-to-get-pregnant people have already lost.)
And I’ve encouraged you to DO SOMETHING, to #VoteBlue, and to sign up to phone bank with Fated States/Indivisible and other Democratic groups.
Today, I’m gonna hit you with just two more videos to watch, especially those of you who are either still undecided or are planning to vote for Trump on Tuesday.
The first is a video request to Republicans from Jimmy Kimmel, that I think is simply brilliant. I urge you to watch all of it. And to share it with the Republicans in your life.
Next on my list, but just as important viewing, is a short film called Red White and Blue. This live-action short (22 mins) was Oscar nominated, and wow, is it powerful. This amazing (indie! low budget! so well written and performed!) film follows a young, single mother from Arkansas who is forced to cross state lines in search of a critically urgent and necessary abortion.
Please watch it. Please.
The video only plays over on YouTube, so do click on over to see it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-nn_dNEEQw
And then share it with all of your networks, because DAMN.
So okay. That’s it. That’s my closing argument.
Please vote for joy and hope and democracy and freedom. Vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, and Democrats all the way down your ballot to your local races. (You can use the excellent BlueVoterGuide.org to help you figure out the often intentionally confusing wording of any amendments on your ballot, too! Another great resource for finding out your early voting locations and polling hours is iwillvote.com .)
Okay, readers. Time for me to go phonebank to GOTV!

LFG!
Please never stop fighting for our freedom, for our democracy, for equality, equity, peace, love, hope, and for the rights of ALL of our neighbors both here and around the world,
Suz
