Today's a really dark day in a dark few weeks in a very dark year.

Back a few months ago, when Jason and I were planning the proper length of the Kickstarter campaign for our next movie, Analysis Paralysis, we scheduled one last email blast for today, Monday, Oct. 2nd. Our intention was to let everyone know that the campaign would be ending in a day and a half, at noon (ET) on Wednesday, October 4th. Kinda like: "Hey, gang! Last call!"But then last night happened, and we've gone back and forth and back again, initially leaning heavily toward simply letting our Kickstarter campaign quietly run down the clock. We've long crushed our goal--but then again, we set it very low, and every penny raised increases our little movie's production values enormously... We've also got some unique rewards that can't be found anywhere else. Plus... some of you may have been waiting for this last minute nudge that we'd promised we'd deliver in an earlier enewsletter.Still. It was gonna be hard enough sending out that "last call" email in light of the terrible devastation in Puerto Rico and the USVI.But in the course of our discussion about whether or not to send this email, we came across Alec Baldwin's acceptance speech from his recent Emmy win, in which he said:

"I remember someone told me that when you die, you don’t remember a bill that Congress passed, or a decision the Supreme Court made, or an address made by the president. You remember a song, or a line from a movie. You remember a play, you remember a book, a painting, a poem. What we do is important. And for all of you out there in motion pictures and television, don’t stop doing what you’re doing. The audience is counting on you."

Today's another dark day in America. But we're not stopping. We're moving forward as writers, producers, actors, and creators to make our little indie rom-com movie about two people who crash into each other and fall head-over-heels in love. And we decided it was worth it to send you this reminder. Analysis Paralysis is filled with hope and joy, and it's set in a welcoming, loving, kind and LGBTQ-inclusive world. And we really hope that when people watch it, it will make them laugh and feel good. And if you want--and are able--to spend a little of your hard-earned money helping us create something joyful and hopeful and funny and sweet, well, we thank you very much. Analysis Paralysis at Kickstarter. Thanks for reading this. With sorrow, but with hope in our hearts that love can help light our way out of this darkness,Suz (and Ed and Jason and Matt and the rest of the Analysis Paralysis team)P.S. If you're looking for reputable orgs to which to contribute to help the devastated Americans in Puerto Rico and the USVI, my personal hero, Lin-Manuel Miranda, has whole-heartedly endorsed The Hispanic Federation. (And he's got a very big heart!)
