Beta-Read LT Thomas King's Book as a Kickstarter Reward!

And you, dear e-newsletter subscribers, get one of the very first looks (and dibs!) at the various rewards for our OUT OF BODY (an LGBTQ rom-com movie) Kickstarter Campaign! Making movies is way more expensive than writing books, and setting up a Kickstarter Campaign allows us to crowd-fund our films. (Thank you so much!!) The way Kickstarter works is that “backers” pick from a series of unique “rewards” that they’ll receive in return for helping us fund the movie. You get to help us create an inclusive, funny, entertaining film, while receiving things (like a beta-read or a beta-view, or a Skype party with our movie's two stars!) that you can’t just pick up at the local bookstore. (Or even get via Amazon!) 

For example, we always offer the chance to beta-read an early draft of one of my books.Last time it was Tall, Dark & Dangerous book #12, SEAL CAMP.This time, it’s TDD #13 (it will stand alone!), working title KING'S RANSOM.And yes, it’s LT (jg) Thomas King's book, with Tash as his heroine.  I expect to have cover art to show you very soon! In the meantime, here's some of the raw footage from our recent photo shoot...Oh, this is going to be such a fun book to write!!And yes, that's actor and model David Singletary playing the part of Thomas King. He's also appearing in OUT OF BODY as Carl, one of main character Henry's friends.Along with our regular "beta-read" reward, we’re doing something a little different with OUT OF BODY's Kickstarter Campaign and offering two different private, digital viewings of the movie that we're making. They're not downloads--think of it more as a short-term digital “rental”--because offering a digital download would disqualify us from most film fests. Instead, we're offering a limited number of opportunities to use a passworded Vimeo link to watch the movie in either a beta-viewing (before it's finished, with a chance to give us feedback!) or as a “first look” of the finished film. (Details about both of those rewards are up on our Kickstarter OUT OF BODY page!) And of course we've got signed books (get signed paperback copies of both SEAL CAMP and OUT OF BODY!), signed DVDs, and lots of cool book & movie combos. In case you missed it, I went to Denver last week because the Romance Writers of America presented me with a Lifetime Achievement Award. What an amazing honor!! My brilliant son Jason intro'd me and we got to show the crowd the trailer for ANALYSIS PARALYSIS, and then I kinda (ahem) burned the place down.
